Bernhard Springer

Bernhard Springer (* 1955 in Hanover ) is a German artist .

Life

Springer completed an internship as a sculptor with Hanns Joachim Klug , as well as studying theology, literary history, linguistics, logic and philosophy of science. He received a master's degree and doctorate in film philology.

Bernhard Springer has been working as a freelance artist in the fields of painting, film, video and sculpture since 1980. He was a founding member of the artist group “frisch painted”, the producer gallery “Galerie U5” (1980–1990) and the art fanzine “plastic-indianer”. Springer is press spokesman and member of the board of trustees FMDK eV Kunstsalon Kunstareal München. Springer has had a studio in the Domagkateliers since 1996 .

In the film sector, Bernhard Springer works both as a director and as a producer. He was the producer on Suck My Dick (2001) and co-producer on the movie No Time to Die (2006). In 2009 he worked on the pilot film Groupies for the BR documentary series "Kunstraum". In German or Polish (2014) he was involved in directing and writing the script.

Since 2012 he has been doing more work as a curator , for example at TAG Temporary Art Gallery, currently Sapporobogen 6–8, Munich.

Springer is married with three children and lives in Munich.
