Bert Kaeser

Bert Kaeser (full name Berthold Helmut Kaeser , born January 30, 1943 in Oberhaching ) is a German classical archaeologist .

After attending elementary school and the Rotteck-Gymnasium in Freiburg up to the Abitur in 1962, Kaeser began studying classical archeology, prehistory and early history and Latin, later art history and ancient history at the University of Freiburg . Since the summer semester 1964 he studied at the University of Saarbrücken , since the winter semester 1966/67 at the University of Bonn . Kaeser received his doctorate there on December 15, 1976 under Nikolaus Himmelmann . From February 1973 he was a research assistant at the Berlin Collection of Antiquities , during this time also Secretary of the Archaeological Society of Berlin in 1977/78 . He then worked as a research assistant at the Munich Collection of Antiquities , where he was responsible for the Greek vases . Until his retirement, he worked on many projects in the collection, including the exhibitions Art of the Bowl - Culture of Drinking (1990) and Strong Women (2008).
