Bert Wendsche

Bert Wendsche (* 1964 in Dresden ) is a German non-party local politician . He has been Lord Mayor of the major Saxon district town of Radebeul since 2001 . Since 2019 he has been co-chair of the CDU parliamentary group in the Meißner district council and president of the Saxon city and community council .

Life

Wendsche graduated from the Kreuzschule in Dresden in 1982 . After serving in the army, he studied pedagogy from 1985 to 1990 at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg, graduating as a qualified pedagogue. After specializing in economics there, he studied at the Saxon Administration University of Applied Sciences in Meißen between 1993 and 1996, with a degree in administrative management (FH).

From 1996 he worked in the financial department of the Radebeul city administration, among other things as head of budget and deputy head of office. He has lived in Radebeul since 1998.

Bert Wendsche was elected Lord Mayor of the large district town of Radebeul on August 1, 2001 . On June 7, 2015, he was re-elected Lord Mayor for a further 7 years with 73.7% of the valid votes cast (2008: 98.3%, 2001: 59.4%) from an opposing candidate.

In the district council elections in the district of Meißen in 2019 , Wendsche was elected to the district council, where, although not party to the party, he belongs to the CDU parliamentary group and is co-chairman together with Ulrich Reusch (CDU).
