The Kempten District Hospital is a specialist clinic for psychiatry , psychotherapy and psychosomatics in Kempten (Allgäu) . It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Kempten Clinic , which is run by the Swabian District Clinics . Its catchment area includes the city of Kempten, the Oberallgäu district and the Lindau district .

history

The facility opened in 1986. On April 1, 2011, the district hospital became an academic teaching hospital of the University of Ulm .

The district hospital in Freudental in the city center last had 87 beds in 2015. The new building of the district hospital on the premises of the Kempten Clinic was opened on February 23, 2015. It has 9,500 square meters. After a short renovation, the former building of the district hospital has been used as accommodation for unauthorized people who entered the refugee crisis since 2015 .
