Bidone d'oro
The bidone d'oro ( Italian for golden garbage can ) was a prize that was awarded from 2003 to 2012 by the Catersport show on the Italian radio broadcaster Rai Radio Due . The award went to the worst player in the Italian football championships - in an ironic reference to the Ballon d'Or , in Italian called Pallone d'oro .
After a jury had selected suitable candidates, the listeners of the program chose the title holder from among them. The polls took place on the Internet and in polling stations all over Italy. The Brazilian international Adriano was chosen three times . The only placed German player in 2003 was Carsten Jancker in third place. After Catersport was canceled in 2012, the award was no longer awarded.
