Bilderbuch is a documentary series of the ARD , whose individual programs each present a region, landscape or city in words and pictures. It was broadcast on Das Erste from 1996 to 2010 and was entitled Picture Book Germany until 2005 . Since 2010 it has been continued by Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg.

It has been broadcast since October 15, 1996, with all of the regional broadcasting corporations in the ARD producing programs about areas in their own broadcasting area. In the first episode “ Marburg and the Marburger Land” was presented.

After the weekly broadcast of the picture book was stopped in the first of 2010, the RBB continues to occasionally produce new episodes for the RBB television .

The focus of the contributions was on local traditions and particularities, culinary specialties, architecture , nature and history (s). The aim of the series was the presentation of a geographically closed area and its nature, culture and personalities from past and present. The tenor of the programs was mostly positive, almost promotional. Problems such as unemployment or public finances , which otherwise dominated current public discussion and reporting, remained largely untreated.

To mark the tenth anniversary of the series, the shortened name Bilderbuch and a new opening credits were introduced on January 1, 2006 (first broadcast on June 4, 2006 via Weingarten). Since January 2007 (broadcast via Luxembourg), individual broadcasts have also been devoted to neighboring regions in Germany's neighboring countries.

Charisma

The regular broadcast date was on Sundays at 1:45 p.m. in the first , unless there were sports broadcasts. In 2010, the broadcast of the series was stopped in the first after 14 years, because according to ARD, the regions are presented exhaustively. Repetitions are broadcast in the third programs and in 3sat at different times.
