Bill Arigoni
Giuseppe "Bill" Arigoni (born August 23, 1949 , † February 12, 2010 in Magliaso ) was a Swiss politician ( PdA , SP ).
biography
The trade unionist Arigoni was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Ticino from 1988 to 1991 . In 1991 he resigned from the Grand Council and left the PdA. In 1997 he was dismissed by his employer Mikron after 25 years of employment. He protested against this with a 12-day hunger strike . As a member of the SP, Arigoni was again a member of the Grand Council since 1999. He was also president of the Ticino tenants' association and a member of the Magliaso municipal executive.
Arigoni was hit on a pedestrian crossing on the evening of February 11, 2010 and succumbed to serious injuries the next day. His son Alessio Arigoni became a politician for the Partito Socialista in Ticino.
