Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård (born August 9, 1990 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish actor . He belongs to the well-known Swedish actor family Skarsgård .

Life

Bill Skarsgård was born in 1990 to the Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård and his then wife My. He bears his second, Hungarian first name “Istvan” because his mother became pregnant in Hungary; Günther is his mother's family name. His older brothers Alexander (* 1976) and Gustaf (* 1980) are actors like his younger brother Valter (* 1995).

As a child he developed a passion for acting and acted out several self-made Super 8 films at home . At the age of nine, he played the younger brother of Alexander's character alongside his older brother in the Swedish thriller Järngänget . Afterwards, however, Bill Skarsgård did not want to become "another actor in the family", which is why he decided against the creative subjects and science subjects at school. But already at the age of 16 he was given the opportunity to take part in the historical film Arn - Der Kreuzritter (Arn - Riket vid vägens slut) at the side of his father Stellan and his brother Gustaf . As he watched these two act, he understood their craft, showed renewed interest, and knew that he wanted to be an actor rather than a scientist. He then received several offers for auditions , as a result of which he was cast as Martin in the Swedish crime drama Heaven is innocent blue .

In 2011 he was recognized for his role of the autistic Simon in the Swedish comedy drama In space, there are no feelings for the Swedish Film Award Guldbagge as Best Actor and the Young Artist Awards 2011 in the category Best Performance in an International Feature Film nomination. In March 2012 he got a leading role in Eli Roth's thriller series Hemlock Grove .

The actor also plays the main character Pennywise in the remake of Stephen King's novel It . The film was released in German cinemas on September 28, 2017.

In the late summer of 2018, he and his girlfriend Alida Morberg became parents of a daughter.
