The Diocese of Nicosia ( Latin Dioecesis Nicosiensis or Dioecesis Herbitensis , Italian Diocesi di Nicosia ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy , located in Sicily , with its seat in Nicosia .

It belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Messina of the ecclesiastical region of Sicily and is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Messina-Lipari-Santa Lucia del Mela .

The Diocese of Nicosia was established on March 17, 1817 by Pope Pius VII .
