The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pavia ( lat. Dioecesis Papiensis , ital. Diocese of Pavia ) is in Italy located diocese of the Roman Catholic Church , based in Pavia .

The diocese was founded in the 1st century. It was the first diocese in the Western Church to receive exemption (710–1803) from the Metropolitan Union . Today it is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Milan as a suffragan .
