Blanka Paulů (born March 31, 1954 in Vrchlabí ) is a former Czechoslovak cross-country skier .
Career
Paulů had her first international success at the 1973 European Junior Championships in Kawgolowo . There she won the bronze medal over 5 km. The following year she won silver over 5 km and bronze with the relay at the 1974 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . She finished fourth over 10 km. In March 1974 she won the Lahti Ski Games with the relay. At the 1975 Winter Universiade in Livigno , she won gold medals over 5 km and 10 km. In February 1976 she ran at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 17th place over 10 km, in tenth place over 5 km and in sixth place with the relay. Her best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1978 were tenth place over 10 km and sixth place with the relay. In the same year she won the gold medal over 5 km at the Winter Universiade in Špindlerův Mlýn . At the Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid in February 1980 she came in 30th place over 5 km, 29th place over 10 km and fourth place with the relay. In February 1981 she won the bronze medal over 5 km and the silver medal over 10 km at the Winter Universiade in Candanchú . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 1982 , she finished 16th over 20 km classic. She reached 19th place over 20 km classic at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 in Seefeld . At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , she won silver with the relay and took fourth place over 20 km classic. In the cross-country skiing world cup , she was able to win two world cup races. Her best overall World Cup result was fourth place in the 1982/83 season .
At the Czechoslovak Championships Paulů won six times over 10 km (1975, 1978, 1981-1984), five times over 20 km (1976, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1985), four times over 5 km (1974-1976, 1984) and once with the season (1976). In addition, she became Czechoslovak junior champion over 5 km in 1973.
