Puppets of the Tin Can Army

The Tin Can Army is an army of puppets whose soldiers are armored by tin cans . They are figures from the Augsburger Puppenkiste - the puppet theater founded by Walter Oehmichen in 1948 - who appear in the television productions Gut roaring, Lion and Don Blech and the golden Junker . Its inventor is the author Max Kruse , its general Don Blech. Her song "Two, three, four, we march" will of conscientious objectors and pacifists as militarism - Satire construed.

Following the principle of a rapid reaction force, the tin can army often hurries at a rapid pace to their combat missions by rolling down a slope with the appropriate rattling noises. The command “roll, roll, roll” is particularly effective, the uncritical, rapid execution of which caricatures the reception of commands in combat as a soldier's life. In addition, in simple rhymes - as in the ending rhyme there on ra in “Hurray! Enemy is here! ”- parodies the language of the soldiers .
