Bobenthal is a municipality in the district of Südwestpfalz in Rhineland-Palatinate . At the end of the 15th century, knight Hans von Trotha dammed the Wieslauter near Bobenthal in the course of his feud with the abbot of the Weissenburg monastery and had the dam torn down again later. This initially led to a lack of water and then to severe flooding in Weißenburg . After his death, his son Christoph had to give the place back to the Weißenburger Stift.

Catholic Church of Saint Michael
