Life
Barnet is one of the great masters of Russian cinema and is regarded as a representative of a quiet, comedic style. Barnet's preferred style, a mix between satire and poetry, embedded in so-called everyday fabrics, advanced to popular cinema in the 1920s and 1930s. Later, despite political discrediting, with great effort and diplomatic effort, he realized box office hits such as exploits of a scout (1947), Goldener Sommer (1951) and Aljonka (1961).
Barnet died by suicide in Riga in 1965 .
