history

Borusseum in Dortmund

The idea for the Borusseum came to the fan and then chairman of the BVB fan department, Olaf Suplicki, when he saw how the club's trophies were handled in the VIP area of the stadium. Since the north-east corner of the stadium had not yet been developed, it turned out to be a suitable place for it and the planning of the club museum in this corner began. The BVB fan department announced that it would raise the necessary funds for the construction itself, as the club was busy with the renovation after the impending bankruptcy. Thanks to many donations from companies and members as well as a charity CD, in which Doro Pesch and Chris Thompson also participated, the project was able to be realized. On December 19, 2008, the 99th birthday of the club, the Borusseum was opened by President Reinhard Rauball , Vice President Reinhold Lunow and Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke .
