Brackeln

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brackeln , or Bragge , is a very old board game , especially in Bavaria . A log is placed upright on the ground in the open air, and each player places a coin of the same face value on top , with the obverse still on top. Then the players try one after the other to hit the log with a metal disc from an agreed distance (e.g. 15 meters). If this succeeds and the log falls over, the thrower owns the coins, which are lying on the floor with their lapels up. The other coins are put back on the log and the game continues with the next thrower. It is therefore a combination of a game of skill and a game of chance .
