Brad Lewis
Bradford Clark Lewis (born April 29, 1958 in Sacramento County , California ) is an American film producer, film director and local politician. At the Academy Awards 2020 he was nominated for the best animated film as the producer of the film How To Train Your Dragon 3: The Secret World .
Life
Brad Lewis grew up in San Mateo , California. In 1991 he moved to San Carlos. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree as a drama scholar from Fresno State University .
Lewis worked for Pacific Data Images (PDI) film company as Vice President of Productions for more than 13 years . For them he was responsible for films such as Operation: Broken Arrow (1996), Project: Peacemaker (1997) and Auf die stürmische Art (1999). He also produced Hanna-Barbera's short television film, The Last Halloween , for which he received an Emmy in 1992 , and the first 3D episode of The Simpsons television series . He won a Sports Emmy in 1991 for the design of Monday Night Football . He also produced the animated film Antz (1998).
After PDI was bought by DreamWorks SKG , he moved to Pixar . There he was initially a voice actor for The Incredibles (2004). He repeated this in the Ratatouille (2007) that he produced . As a co-director he was responsible for Ponyo - The Great Adventure by the Sea (2008) and Cars 2 (2011).
Lewis left Pixar in 2011 to join Digital Domain . He was supposed to work as a director there, but the company had to file for bankruptcy. He then came to Warner Bros. , for which he produced Störche - Abenteuer im Anflug (2016) and The LEGO Batman Movie (2017). He then returned to DreamWorks, for which he produced How To Train Your Dragon 3: The Secret World (2019).
Local politics
Lewis served on the San Carlos Parks & Recreation Commission for five years . In 2005 he was elected to the city council, of which he was a member until 2009. In 2006 he became vice mayor and 2007 mayor of San Carlos.
