history

1997-1999: Glee

The band released their first and most famous single Drinkin 'in LA in February 1997 on the Canadian label Audigram Records. Two months later, their first album, Glee , came out in Canada with 17 tracks. In March 1998 the album was released internationally with major changes: It now contained 19 tracks. The song Ceci n'est pas une chanson became an instrumental piece with the title Une Chanson , some English verses were inserted into the previously exclusively French title Forest , and the previously unpublished titles Rainshine , Carry On and Old School were added.

2000-2001: Discosis

In 2000, band member EP Bergen released the solo album Airport Lounge. In 2001 MC Stephen "Liquid" Hawley followed suit and released his solo album Liquid Ltd. - Better Days . In the summer of 2001, Bran Van 3000 brought out another album, Discosis , with the collaboration of Youssou N'Dour and Eek-a-Mouse, among others . The track Astounded came about when the band wanted to take musician Curtis Mayfield on board. But he had died shortly before; fortunately, there were unfinished tracks left behind that flowed into the new track.

2002–2006: rest and sleeper

In 2004 a new album was announced, but according to the then official website branvan3000.com the work on it was put on hold for a long time. Instead of a new BV3 album, the first solo album by singer Sara Johnston called Sleeper appears

2006–2007: Rosé

After a six-year hiatus, Bran Van 3000 reported back in autumn 2007 with the album Rosé , which was released on October 30 in Canada and internationally on November 27. The first single, Call Me (I'll Be Around Medley) , Rosé's first track , was released on October 4th, 2007 in Canada. Was written Rosé in Los Angeles , recorded in the studios of Depeche Mode and Steve Vai (Hollywood).

2010–2012: The Garden

Marked by the death of his father, Bobby Di Salvio, James brought the artist collective together for a fourth time. On October 19, 2010 they released their most emotional and adult album to date, The Garden with 15 new titles. It was only released in Canada, as was the first single, Grace (Love on the Block) , on September 7th. Since then, Di Salvio has been touring Canada with parts of the band, working with new singers like Miss Abi on old songs. The two main singers Sara Johnston and Jayne Hill are no longer there.
