history

Even during the negotiations on the German-German unification treaty , there were considerations of preparing the establishment of East German regional headquarters based on the West German model. A development team was set up in Brandenburg a few weeks after the state was constituted. Under the leadership of the GDR - civil rights leader Hans-Jürgen Misselwitz this took even before the official establishment of the Brandenburg State Agency on 1 July 1992 (§ 12 according LOG ) tasks of political education. In 1994 a parliamentary advisory board was set up to support the work of the regional headquarters in an advisory capacity. Since 2001 this task has been performed by a board of trustees made up of all parties. One of the first major tests was the constitutional referendum of 1992 , in the run-up to which the state headquarters advocated a critical examination of the new constitution. This was also a test for the commitment to the Beutelsbach Consensus , which is an essential principle of their work to this day.
