action
Lieutenant James Brannigan is a die-hard police officer from Chicago who is sent to London by his superiors to bring the escaped criminal Ben Larkin back to the United States. However, Larkin is kidnapped before Scotland Yard officers can arrest him. His lawyer Mel Fields reports to the police with a ransom note. The police monitor the handover, but are deceived by a diversionary maneuver. Several assassinations are carried out on him while Brannigan is involved in the investigation. Larkin has put a hit man on his longtime pursuer. Meanwhile, the police receive another ransom note with Larkin's finger. This time Fields, who is supposed to hand over the ransom again, does not want the police to interfere. He removes the tracking device from his car. He meets Larkin and his kidnappers on an old factory site. The kidnappers were hired by him. After paying her off, he shoots her and celebrates with Larkin, with whom he concocted this plan. Only then do they find the second tracking device that was between the ransom money. The police and Brannigan arrive and arrest Larkin and Fields. When the officers move away and only Brannigan and his driver are on site, the hit man who followed Brannigan comes out of cover. Brannigan turns out to be the better shot and can kill the attacker.
criticism
"Exciting, imaginative and told with distant irony police film."
