The Brasília Futebol Clube is a football club from Brasília in the Federal District of Brazil .

history

The club was founded in 1975 as the football department of the Brasília Esporte Clube , under whose name it has also won its previous district championship titles. The football department was bought by a Brazilian business consortium in 1999 and has now been renamed as an independent club called Brasília Futebol Clube .

In the national football championship of Brazil , Brasília FC played for the last time in 2013 as a participant in the Série D, for which he was no longer able to qualify for the following season.

The greatest success for the club so far is winning the Copa Verde 2014, which was associated with the first qualification for an international competition, the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana . In this competition he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Athletico Paranaense (see: Copa Sudamericana 2015 ) .
