Building with the historic boom of the brewery restaurant on Fischerstrasse in Kempten

The brewery for the city of Hamburg was a restaurant and brewery on Fischerstrasse in Kempten (Allgäu) . The brewery was given up in 1981 as the last private brewery in Kempten. The monument has the address Fischerstraße 19 , among others .

Originally the brewery and restaurant was called Zum Weißen Rössle ; the inn had a brewery, brandy distillery and wine tavern justice . The establishment probably took place in 1600. A Konstantin Langenmayer and 1689 a Jakob Röhlin are documented as owners for the year 1666.

In 1743 the restaurant was renamed Zur Stadt Hamburg . The reason for this was that Jakob Röhlin was in Hamburg during his wandering and was referred to as the Hamburger after his return to Kempten . From 1755 Johann Jakob Schmid was the owner of the brewery and restaurant. In 1763 this was a Stefan Röhlin. From then on, family members with the surname Langenmayer and Zorn took turns.

In 1981 the brewery was taken over by Allgäuer Brauhaus AG and then given up, and in 1991 the restaurant was also closed. The buildings on Fischerstrasse are reminiscent of the brewery history in the elongated, connected buildings in the classicism style thanks to an inscription and a historical, cast-iron bracket .

The properties are managed and rented out by the brewery descendants Otto Langenmayr GmbH & Co. KG . Today there is a bank branch and clothing retailer in the building of the inn. The brewery buildings, behind the inn up to Zwingerstrasse, were demolished and replaced by new buildings.
