from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The BraveheartBattle (official name: BraveheartBattle - Extreme Run - The running event in Germany ) is an annual extreme obstacle course .

description

So far it has taken place in March with sometimes more than 2500 starters. From 2010 to 2015 the host was the Lower Franconian Münnerstadt . Bischofsheim in the Rhön has been the venue since 2016 . The run was canceled for the first time on March 10, 2018, as the organizer had to file for bankruptcy a few months earlier. A rescheduling with other organizers did not succeed in time for the date.

The event is organized by the PAS Team Ltd. , an agency that offers sports and survival events, but also safety training in preparation for staying in war and crisis regions.

In contrast to a marathon , this extreme run is not just a running event. Over a distance of around 30 km, the participants have to overcome around fifty natural and artificial obstacles. The local rivers, which are very cool at this time of year, are crossed several times. To do this, the participants must z. B. crawl through mud pits and overcome burning obstacles or crawl over long distances under live wires. Help between the participants is allowed and even expressly desired. In many cases, runners wear different disguises, often as a team. The main goal of most participants is to arrive within the given maximum time in order to receive the title “Braveheart”. About 5% of the participants do not arrive at the finish.

Since March 24, 2019, the BraveheartBattle has been taking place under a new organizer in Steinach (Thuringia) on the premises of the Silbersattel ski arena .
