Brian Hannon (born September 26, 1965 in Utica , New York ) is a former American ice hockey player with German and Irish citizenship who played in the USA and Germany on the position of the striker . In the top German league he was active for the Düsseldorfer EG , Berlin Capitals , Kassel Huskies and Frankfurt Lions .

Career

Brian Hannon began playing ice hockey at Michigan Tech University in the NCAA , which he put on ice skates between 1983 and 1988. He then spent a season with the Carolina Thunderbirds in the ECHL before going on the ice for two seasons for the Fort Wayne Comets from the International Hockey League .

In 1990 Hannon moved to Germany, where he initially played for EV Stuttgart in the 2nd League South , but also for the Düsseldorfer EG in the 1st Bundesliga . The following season Hannon spent in the Oberliga Süd at EV Pfronten and in the 2nd League South at EV Ravensburg . In the 1992/93 season he was in the Bundesliga squad at EC Ratingen and the Berlin Capitals , before moving to the Kassel Huskies for two seasons in 1993 , with whom he rose from the 2nd Bundesliga to the DEL .

Then Hannon signed for two seasons with the Frankfurt Lions from the DEL and went on the ice in the 1997/98 season for the champion of the second class first division, the EHC Neuwied , with which he was able to defend the championship of the first division. He spent the following season at their league competitor GEC Nordhorn before ending his career at SC Bietigheim-Bissingen after two more seasons in the 2nd Bundesliga.
