The Bay of Sozopol (also Sozopol Bay , Bulgarian Созополски залив / Sosopolski saliw) is a bay of the western Black Sea in the Gulf of Burgas and bears the name of the largest city in the bay - Sozopol . The bay is bordered by the Chrisotira peninsulas in the north and Skamnij in the south. A fertile coastal plain that has been used since ancient times stretches along the bay. The plain borders in the west on the Meden rid range of hills , part of the Strandscha Mountains with the highest elevation of the Bakarlak summit (362 m). The Bakarlar is also the highest point in the entire gulf.

In the bay are the three islands Sweti Kirik , Sweti Iwan and Sweti Petar as well as the campsites Gradina (German: garden , ) and Slatna ribka (German: goldfish , )
