The Bulletin of Volcanology is a scientific journal with peer review and one of the most important regular publications for the research geosciences in general and Volcanology in particular. It was first published in 1922 as Bulletin Volcanologique and is the official magazine of the International Association of Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior . It has been published under the English title by the science publisher Springer Science + Business Media since 1986 and has only been made available to subscribers in digital form since 2014 . In the same year the magazine achieved an impact factor of 2,519.

Each issue is divided into three thematic sections: The largest part is made up of specialist articles and, in a few cases, reviews . The Bulletin of Volcanology also contains announcements from the world of research and pages for the discussion of controversial issues, which can also be used to reply to and comment on articles from previous editions.
