Bunaken ( Indonesian : Pulau Bunaken ) is an Indonesian island in the Celebes Sea . It is located about 3 km off the mainland of North Sulawesi near Manado . The village of Bunaken is located on the southern tip of the island, where about 900 people live.

The underwater national park of Bunaken covers an area of ​​750 km² the islands of Bunaken, Manado Tua, Siladen, Montehage and Nain. Here divers will find one of the best Indonesian diving spots .
