Non-ferrous metal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Non-ferrous metals is a collective name for a subgroup of non-ferrous metals , excluding precious metals . They include metals such as cadmium (Cd) , cobalt (Co) , copper (Cu) , nickel (Ni) , lead (Pb) , tin (Sn) and zinc (Zn) . These base heavy metals are colored themselves or form colored alloys such as brass , bronze and gunmetal , whereby the alloys are also classified as non-ferrous metals. Because of this often noticeable color, they are called non-ferrous metals.
