Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH (sometimes also written as Busch-Jäger) is a manufacturer of electrical installation technology. The company based in Lüdenscheid is part of the ABB Group .

history

The company Vereinigte Elektrotechnische Fabriken FW Busch and Gebr. Jaeger AG came into being in 1926 through the merger of two Brandenburg companies, the shape turning shop by Heinrich Jaeger, founded in 1879, and the company for military effects and house installation material by Friedrich Wilhelm Busch.

The company, which was founded in Schalksmühle , claims to be the market leader for electrical and installation technology in Germany and exports to more than 60 countries worldwide. Production takes place at two locations in Germany ( Lüdenscheid and Bad Berleburg - Aue ). Former factory locations were in Lüdenscheid on Gartenstrasse and Hochstrasse, and there was also a warehouse in the Ramsloh industrial park. Harald Quandt was also the former CEO .

In 2006, the company was awarded gold in the competition for the Ludwig Erhard Prize in the category of large companies , after the company had already received silver with its first application in 2005.

Products

The assortment ranges from the complete electrical installation program with switches , sockets , special plug-in devices, rail-mounted devices (REG), dimmers and motion detectors to electronic high-tech products based on the KNX standard (Busch installation bus, Busch-Powernet) or the Busch-free smart home system @home. Busch-Jaeger also offers door communication systems through to electronic high-end products for building automation. These stand for energy optimization and central control of electrical consumers in the private and commercial sector. The range of products on offer includes around 6,000 electrical installation products.

In 2012, Busch-Jaeger products received 15 design prizes, including the red dot design award .

In 2016, Busch-Jaeger received the German Brand Award 2016 in the “Industry Excellence in Branding” category.
