CKIS-FM is a privately held radio broadcaster based in Toronto , Ontario , Canada . Current top 40 hits are broadcast on the station in contemporary hit radio format. The station is operated by Rogers Media . Rogers Media operates another broadcaster with the same program schedule in Edmonton, Alberta. The station in Toronto broadcasts with an output of 4,700 watts. The program will be broadcast from First Canadian Place .

history

On August 8, 1990, Rawlco Communications received a license to broadcast from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). At the beginning, American Country Music was broadcast for the target group of 25 to 49 year olds. The station began broadcasting in 1993. When the musician Anne Murray officially started broadcasting on January 26, 1993. In 1999 Rogers Communication took over the station and changed the broadcast format to Contemporary Hit Radio. This broadcast format was retained until 2003. Until the Jack FM format was introduced in 2003 and Variety Hits were broadcast until 2009 . From 2009 the broadcast format was changed again and the second KISS-FM era was heralded, which has been retained to this day.
