The Cannstatter Zeitung is a subscription newspaper for the Stuttgart district of Bad Cannstatt and the neighboring Stuttgart Neckar suburbs.

The Untertürkheimer Zeitung is an edition with identical content for Stuttgart-Untertürkheim and the surrounding area. Both newspapers take over the national part and the business part from the Eßlinger Zeitung . The newspapers are printed in the Rhenish format (350 × 510 mm). The sold circulation is 6,479 copies, a decrease of 32.9 percent since 1998.

history

  • In 1824 the Cannstatter Zeitung appears for the first time in the city ​​of Cannstatt .
  • On June 12, 1899 , the Untertürkheimer Zeitung originally appeared as the “Generalanzeiger for Unter- and Obertürkheim, Wangen, Hedelfingen and Rothenberg”.
  • From 1955 the Cannstatter and the Untertürkheimer Zeitung merged under the common Rotenberg publishing house, but to this day with two separate local editorial offices.
  • On July 1, 1960, Bechtle Verlag & Druck in Esslingen am Neckar took over Rotenberg Verlag in Bad Cannstatt along with the two daily newspapers.
  • In October 2016, Südwestdeutsche Medien Holding (SWMH) acquired 87% of Eßlinger Zeitung and thus also of Cannstatter / Untertürkheimer Zeitung.
  • The printing takes place in Esslingen at Bechtle Verlag & Druck.
