Cantos del Pueblo is a musical group founded in 1987 by the brothers Yeoman Prado and Jaunty Prado, students of the San Marcos University in Lima , Peru . The calm, meditative and cheerfully lively music, in which traditional musical instruments of the Andean peoples are also used, contains traditional and original compositions. The group has lived in Rietberg , Germany , since 2008 .
The group achieved their first successes in 1991 with their composition Cumbres , with which they won the Taki television award . Her song El Llanto de la Paloma became the song of the year in Perú.
