Cardiochlamyeae is a tribe from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). Six genera are counted to it, the type genus is Cardiochlamys .

description

The representatives of the tribe Cardiochlamydeae are mostly woody lianas . The base of the leaf blades is heart-shaped, the veins are palmate. The bracts are foliage-like. The flowers are radially symmetrical and hermaphroditic. Their sepals are the same to unequal length and enlarge on the fruit. The pollen grains are mostly tricolpat - only in Cardiochlamys pantoporat - and not prickly. The stylus consists of completely fused carpels . The fruits are nuts that do not pop open .

Occurrence

The genera of the tribe Cardiochlamydeae occur in Asia , only the genus Cardiochlamys is endemic to Madagascar .

  • Cardiochlamys Olive. : With two kinds; they are endemic to Madagascar
  • Cordisepalum Verdc. : With two kinds; their home is Southeast Asia
  • Dinetus Buch.-Ham. ex Sweet : With eight kinds; they occur in tropical Asia
  • Duperreya Gaudich. : With up to three types; they occur in Australia
  • Poranopsis Roberty : With three kinds; they occur in Asia (India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and China)
  • Tridynamia Gagnep. : With about four types; they occur from India to Hainan and western Malesia.

According to the cladistic definition, the tribe corresponds to the narrowest clade, in the Cardiochlamys madagascariensis olive. and Dinetus truncatus (short) Staples are classified.
