Carl Abraham Mankell (born February 16, 1802 in Christiansfeld , † October 27, 1868 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish composer.

The son of the musician and instrument maker Johan Herman Mankel went to Sweden in 1823 and became an organist in Stockholm in 1825. After working as a singing teacher at various schools, he taught at the Royal Music Academy from 1834 to 1841 . As an organist he gave concerts in the Storkyrkan .

He published several volumes with two and four-part songs, romances and songs with piano accompaniment. His brother Gustaf Adolf Mankell also became known as a musician. His son was the politician and military historian Julius Mankell . His nephew was the composer Ivar Henning Mankell , the grandfather of the writer Henning Mankell .
