Carl Reinholdt Busch (born March 29, 1862 in Bjerre , Jutland , † December 19, 1943 in Kansas City , Missouri ) was an American composer of Danish origin.

Busch studied at the Copenhagen Conservatory with Johann Peter Emilius Hartmann and Niels Gade , also in Brussels and with Benjamin Godard in Paris . In 1887 he emigrated to the United States and worked as a music teacher and between 1912 and 1918 as conductor of the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra.

He composed symphonic poems ( Minnehaha's Vision ), other orchestral works, cantatas , chamber music, anthems , choirs and songs . In his works he processed Scandinavian, Anglo-American and Indian themes.
