Carl Hesberg

Carl Hesberg (born December 30, 1898 in Hamburg , † June 29, 1977 in Cologne ) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

After graduation Hesberg took the Protestant faith was 1916-1918 at the First World War in part. He then studied political science in Hamburg and Jena and was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD. From 1923 to 1926 he worked in industry and from 1926 in Cologne as managing director of various associations and companies in the private housing and real estate industry. This activity was only interrupted by participation in World War II.

From 1948 to 1953, Hesberg was an honorary member of the Spruchsenat for emergency aid as an expert for the property . From 1952 to 1954 he was a member of the Expert Council at the Federal Compensation Office . In the 1950s he was also a member of the appraisal committee at the Federal Ministry of Finance .

Carl Hesberg became engaged to Ilse Helene Wullschleger and married her in 1927. They had four children.

Political party

Hesberg was a member of the CDU. In the 1950s, he was district chairman of the CDU in the Cologne district and a member of the economic and medium-sized business committee of the CDU in the Rhineland . From 1956 to 1961 he was the local chairman of the CDU in Cologne-Brück .

MP

Hesberg was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1969. In the federal elections in 1953 and 1957, he entered parliament via the CDU's state list in North Rhine-Westphalia. In 1961 and 1965 he won the Cologne II constituency directly. From 1957 to 1969 he was chairman of the Bundestag committee for local politics , spatial planning, urban development and housing. He is considered a co-initiator of the social housing allowance.
