Wishes, hopes, and fears are always linked to the greatest extent to the fact of a change in the person of the apostolic nuncio in Munich. The newly appointed representative of the Holy See has been within our walls for eight days, and I firmly believe that anyone fortunate enough to meet Monsignor Caputo personally will have fears and confidence and trust in their place to step. "

On December 27, 1905, he consecrated the new shepherd Leo von Mergel in Eichstätt Cathedral . The priest composer Heinrich Fidelis Müller composed a "jubilation choir for Nuncio Caputo" on the occasion of his visit to the Boniface jubilee in Fulda in 1905.
