Carlos Giménez

Carlos Giménez (born March 16, 1941 in Madrid ) is a Spanish cartoonist .

Career

He began his career with commissioned work for the studio Creaciones Illustradas. He drew some series such as Buck Jones , Gringo and Delta 99 (German at Kauka ). In addition to working on the western series Tom Berry , he made the drawings for the soft porn series Odysseus , which appeared in the German magazine Pip .

The French comic magazine Tintin took over the science fiction series Dani Futuro in 1971 , which appeared there until 1976. The series was summarized in seven albums, three of which were also released in German. The lyrics came from Víctor Mora . He also worked for L'Echo des Savanes magazine , where he published the Jack London- inspired story Koolau . When he switched to Fluide Glacial magazine , his stories became more serious and had distinct autobiographical traits. Paracuellos appeared in two volumes and describes Giménez's childhood during the Franco dictatorship . In the 1980s he worked again for Spanish publishers and published short stories in magazines and series such as Los Professionales , in which he told anecdotes from his life as a comic artist in two-sided strips.

In the albums España Una , España Grande , España Libre he published two-sided stories that dealt critically with Franquism . The trilogy was published in German as a U-Comix special volume.
