Caspar Haeusler
Caspar Haeusler (born February 8, 1854 in Gemünden ; † March 21, 1938 in Fürstenfeldbruck ) was an officer and member of the German Reichstag .
Life
Haeusler was the son of a railway foreman of the same name and attended the Realgymnasium Würzburg , the Polytechnic University of Munich and the war school , artillery and engineering school and war academy in Munich. He studied oriental languages, constitutional law and political economy at the University of Munich . As a commoner, he took part in the 1871 war against France in the 9th Bavarian Infantry Regiment for four weeks , served in the infantry, field artillery and general staff and became a lieutenant in 1874, a captain in 1887, a colonel in 1900, and major general in 1903. He traveled to Russia, Turkey and Persia in 1885 and 1886, where he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of the Sun and Lions . In 1889 he married Therese Kester and served as an honorary military service when the Shah visited Bavaria. During a trip abroad to Poland he was arrested while exploring the Russian Vistula-Narew fortifications at the beginning of October 1893 and was a Russian prisoner of state in the 10th pavilion of the citadel of Warsaw until Christmas 1894 . On May 13, 1905, he was put up for disposition as major general because of a hip joint problem.
From 1907 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Lower Franconia 4 ( Neustadt an der Saale , Brückenau , Mellrichstadt , Königshofen , Kissingen ) and the German Center Party .
In May 1987 his daughters Mirjam and Gabriele Haeusler set up the Kester Haeusler Foundation, which is supposed to remember him.
