Cay Rademacher

Cay Rademacher (* 1965 in Flensburg ) is a German journalist and writer . He writes detective novels and non-fiction books on historical topics.

Life

Cay Rademacher studied Anglo-American history, ancient history and philosophy in Cologne and Washington, DC. As a freelance journalist, he wrote for GEO , Merian , mare , Die Zeit and SZ-Magazin . He has been a permanent editor at GEO since 1999 . He helped set up the GEO Epoche magazine and is its managing editor.

In addition, Rademacher writes historical non-fiction books and novels. His topics range from the time of Pharaoh Merenptah , the historical Jesus of Nazareth , the Essenes , the first crusade , Paris in the 14th century to the last voyage of the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin , the sinking of the Athenia , the Hamburg rubble murderer and the fall of the Estonia . He also authored travel guides for Rome , Cologne, Washington, DC, Provence and France .

Rademacher lived and worked in Hamburg , the setting of the trilogy about Chief Inspector Frank Stave, which takes place in the post-war period after the Second World War ( Der Trümmermörder , Der Schieber , Der Fälscher ). In 2013 he moved with his family to Provence, where his new hero, the French gendarme Capitaine Roger Blanc, is based.
