Chad Allen (* 5. June 1974 as Chad Allen Lazzari in Cerritos , California , USA ) is an American actor .

Life

Allen, who is of Italian descent, grew up in Artesia, California with a brother and twin sister. He made his television debut at the age of seven in an episode of the series Simon & Simon . He played another series role from 1986 to 1988 as David Witherspoon alongside Shannen Doherty and Wilford Brimley in Unser Haus (original title Our House ). This was followed by the successful in the USA television series My Two Dad's (1988-1990) on the side of Staci Keanan . He then appeared in other series as a guest actor, including in Wonderful Years and Starship Enterprise: The Next Century .

In 1993 he signed for the role of Matthew Cooper in the pilot of the series Dr. Quinn - a passionate doctor . Allen just wanted to play in the pilot to pay for his college education. But Dr. Quinn - Passionate Doctor became a success and ran for a total of five years. Allen stayed with it until the end, but did not appear in the subsequent television films for the series. After the series ended, he concentrated on acting and appeared again as a guest actor in series, including Cold Case - No victim is ever forgotten and Charmed - Magical Witches .

After the rainbow press published pictures of him kissing another man , he came out as gay in 1996 . Since then he has been an LGBT activist .
