Chad Harbach (* 1975 in Racine , Wisconsin ) is an American author. He is co-founder and co-editor of the American literary magazine n + 1 .

Life

Harbach grew up in Racine (Wisconsin) in the American Midwest . His father was an accountant, his mother the head of a Montessori school . He completed his journalism studies with a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University , where he befriended budding authors and journalists Keith Gessen and Benjamin Kunkel . He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Virginia .

Journalistic activities

Harbach had the idea and the name for a literary magazine back in 1998, which he has published quarterly with the title n + 1 since 2004 together with Mark Greif , Gessen, Kunkel and Marco Roth . He writes for the magazine on environmental issues, writer David Foster Wallace, and sports topics such as the Boston Red Sox .

In 2011 Harbach's first book, The Art of Fielding , a baseball novel , was a huge hit in the United States.
