Champagne beer
A strong beer type is called a champagne beer (also Bière Brut or Champagne-Style Beer ) .
Manufacturing and Consumption
Similar to champagne , the beer is subjected to a second, lengthy maturation and storage process using the champenoise method in the bottle; For this purpose, a higher-fermenting wine yeast from the yeast strain Saccharomyces bayanus (or other strains) and the so-called food are added to the young beer as a source of carbohydrates. During the secondary fermentation, the resulting carbon dioxide is finely bound in the beer. The by jarring in riddling remaining in the bottle neck Hefepfropfen is disgorged and (champagne similar) bottles are sealed with cork stoppers and agraffiert.
Champagne beer is carbonated, softly sparkling and has a significantly higher alcohol content than ordinary beer. The color can vary from very light to dark tones.
