Charles Hoadley
Charles Archibald Brookes Hoadley (born March 1, 1887 in Burwood , Melbourne , † February 27, 1947 in Footscray , Victoria) was an Australian geologist and Antarctic explorer .
Life
The son of jam maker Abel Hoadley was a member of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition under Douglas Mawson from 1911 to 1914.
He previously obtained a degree in mining engineering from Melbourne University .
After the expedition, where he was part of the West Base crew and undertook several sleigh trips, he obtained a Master of Science degree from Melbourne University. He then went on to teach at the School of Mining and Industry in Ballarat , Victoria, Australia. From 1917 until his death in 1947 he was principal of the Technical School in Footscray , Victoria.

In his honor, this is Cape Hoadley named in Antarctica.
