HRH Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge (born May 2, 2015 in London ) is the second child of Prince William and his wife Duchess Catherine and the younger sister of Prince George and the older sister of Prince Louis . As the great-granddaughter of Queen Elisabeth II and Prince Philip , she belongs to the House of Windsor and the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg .

Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge was born on May 2, 2015 at St Mary's Hospital , London . Her older brother is Prince George and her younger brother is Prince Louis . She was baptized with water from the Jordan River by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby on July 5, 2015 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, Sandringham . Her five godparents are her father's cousin Laura Fellowes, her mother's cousin Adam Middleton, Thomas van Straubenzee, James Meade and Sophie Carter.

On June 11, 2016, Princess Charlotte made her third public appearance, after her birth and baptism. There she took part in the annual Trooping the Color parade to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 90th birthday. In September 2016 she accompanied her parents on their state visit to Canada ; in July 2017 she visited Poland and Germany with them. She acted as flower girl at the wedding of her aunt Pippa Middleton in May 2017, that of her uncle Prince Harry in May 2018 and that of her second aunt Princess Eugenie in October 2018 .

Since January 2018, Princess Charlotte attended the Willcocks Nursery School near Kensington Palace . In September 2019 she finally started school at Thomas's School in Battersea , a London borough, which her older brother George is also attending.

Title and line of succession

On December 31, 2012, Queen Elizabeth II had ordered through letters patent that all future children of Prince William should receive the title and salutation of Royal Highness , not just the eldest son, as was customary until then.

Charlotte ranks fourth in the British line of succession . Her grandfather Charles, her father William and her older brother George stand in front of the princess .
