Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory
The Chief Minister is the head of government of the Australian Capital Territory . The chairman of the largest party in the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly usually assumes this office. Unlike other states and territories, the Chief Minister is not appointed by the Governor General, but is elected from the ranks of the Council.
