Chilunda or Lunda is a Bantu language and is spoken by the Lunda people in Zambia , Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo , i.e. in the upper reaches of the Zambezi .
Chilunda is the official language of instruction in primary schools in the Lunda areas in Zambia. Zambia also has newspapers and radio broadcasts in Lunda. The Bible was translated into Bemba and Ruund in 1962 , two languages closely related to Lunda.
Yauma is derived from Chilunda.
