Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi (born June 1, 1986 in Enugu ) is a Nigerian - German soccer player who plays for AIK Solna in the Swedish Fotbollsallsvenskan .

Beginnings

Obasi began his professional career in 2005 with Lyn Oslo . He had previously played in Nigeria for River Lane Youth Club Enugu , Rangers International and the then Nigerian second division club JC Raiders Jos . In 2006 he was voted August Player of the Month in the Tippeligaen and awarded the Kniksenprisen as the best youth player.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim

In August 2007 he moved to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for an estimated six million euros , making him the second most expensive player in the 2nd Bundesliga until then. Obasi made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on September 3, 2007 away in the 3-2 defeat at SC Freiburg , in which he scored both goals for Hoffenheim.
