Lists on the subject

Khorramshahr is an Iranian medium-range missile believed to be a derivative of the North Korean BM25 Musudan . Iran made a successful test of the missile public on September 23, 2017. The missile is under the control of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard .

history

Iran tested one of the missiles in September 2017. The test came during a politically tense period between United States President Donald Trump and Iran. Iran's President Hassan Rouhani announced shortly before the test the expansion of Iran's military capacities and missile program.

A rocket of this model had previously been ceremoniously presented at a parade on September 22, 2017. A semi-trailer carried the launch pad . The inscription "TYSK001" was applied to the rocket motor.

technology

The missiles of the Khorramshahr series should have a range of 2000 kilometers (covers Israel, but also large parts of Romania, Bulgaria and Greece when launched from western Iran) and, according to Iranian information, can also be equipped with multiple warheads ( MIRV ). With the Shahab-3, Iran already has a medium-range missile of the same range.
