Chris A. Butler
Chris A. Butler (born August 14, 1952 in Knoxville , Tennessee , † April 30, 1994 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American production designer .
Life and career
Butler studied at the Atlanta School of Art and later worked as an outfitter for retailers in Los Angeles. From 1978 he worked in film productions.
For his work in the film Chaplin , he was nominated at the 1993 Academy Awards together with Stuart Craig for the Oscar for Best Production Design.
In 1994 he died of complications from AIDS at his home in Los Angeles . He left behind his mother, a sister and his longtime partner.
